Clinical Teaching

As a professor in speech-language pathology I take a team of graduate students into multiple special education classrooms each week where we implement writing instruction and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Working live in the classroom helps these graduate students learn the dynamic, complex orchestration needed to address varied needs of students and collaborate with the educational team. Graduate students discover how we can anchor language and literacy learning in real-life authentic contexts and collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists.
